The (IMDA) Data Protection Trustmark will now be recognised as part of the national Singapore Standards

Starting from July 2025, the DPTM will be incorporated into the national Singapore Standards (SS), enhancing its recognition for organisations that achieve DPTM certification. The framework will also be refreshed to better equip organisations for the future and to address the evolving demands of data protection.

Here's what revised DPTM will offer:

• Updated language to clarify the requirements for organisations seeking certification
• A streamlined certification experience where organisations can work with one certification body throughout their certification journey
• Professional assessments conducted by bodies overseen by the Singapore Accreditation Council
• Annual surveillance audits to enhance confidence in the organisation’s data protection practices and demonstrate continued commitment to data protection
