SS 506 Part 3 was previously developed based on Singapore Standard SS 506 Part 1 – Specification for Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Management System (A full adoption of OHSAS 18001:2007) with added requirement of Code of Practice on Safety Management System for Chemical Industries.
With publication of ISO 45001 in March 2018 and retirement of BS OHSAS 18001, SS 651 was established with requirement of ISO 45001 standard requirement and added requirement of Code of Practice on Safety Management System for Chemical Industries. SS 651 was published in Jan 2020.
As such, industries such as “Oil refinery or petrochemical plant / Semiconductor wafer fabrication plant / Chemical manufacturing plant / Pharmaceutical plant / Bulk storage terminal” will required to migrate their Safety & Health Management System to meet SS 651 requirement by 31 Dec 2021. WSH Auditing Organisation like us will be carrying out audits basing on SS 651 as audit criteria by 01 Jan 2022.
